Hey friends.
There are a few changes happening around here right now. First, Prescott Family . org has been moved from Movable Type to WordPress. This really doesn’t mean anything for the end user, but I thought I would say it anyhow. Second, we are relaunching the site with a cleaner, more simple approach. We want to have more interaction and discussion. The shop, news, and events are relatively unchanged in approach, but the media page has a new vibe. The media page is a gigantic massive blogroll of the community’s blogs, twitters, flickrs, vimeos, etc. Check it out. OUT.
The Family Press is now accepting submissions for Volume 1: Issue 2
THE THEME IS TV
Send artwork and writing of any medium or genre to zine@prescottfamily.org
Trust us when we say we really really really want you to be part of this.
Deadline: Saturday, November 29th
Not sure when this is happening. Submissions aren’t happeneing.
More details soon!
Check out the zine page for info on how to submit.

bodycity is performing at a speakeasy “Bewildered Children of Pleasure” in MacArthur Park this Saturday. “A 20’s ball inspired by our 20’s building.” We will be dancing a dance inspired by this building’s courtyard. So please come to the Glen Donald Apartment Building on:
Aug. 30th, 7-11pm
2121 James M Wood Blvd
between Alvarado & Lake Streets
To learn the password to gain entrance to the party email bewilderedchildren@gmail.com. It is a party after all, so please also bring your own boozies and whatnots.…we think we are dancing around 9pm.
wednesday night (august 6th) at 9 pm or so lucky dragons will play on the roof of 1830 sunset blvd (on top of the echo). afterwards there is a screening of a 16mm print of jack smith’s “flaming creatures”.
i have often thought of this as a perfect movie (maybe because its only like 43 minutes long? and tony conrad made the soundtrack? and, according to legend, the only remaining negative of it was buried after it was banned for “total lack of social value”, so all copies of it look like they were filmed in the 1890’s? and it was filmed on a rooftop, and now we watch it on a rooftop?). come see us and then it and then we’ll talk about it all in the night air. it’s good.
five dollars to get in, doors at 8:30 yes yes!
