After some hesitation and a lot of time, the new Prescott Family website has been finished. This is something we have wanted to do for about a year. Looking for Shows or Media? No you’re not. We retired those to lack of interest on our part and yours. In addition to getting rid of the unnecessary, we made the necessary so much more available. But we are not done yet. We are working on a new awesome shop. It will not be complicated and confusing like our old shop. You will love it.

We are seeking submissions for The Family Press #3. This time the theme is sex. We really want your poetry, videos, short stories, images, songs, ascii art, etc. — Literally anything that works for the web.
The Deadline for submissions is August 31st, so get some while you can.

The Prescott Family is proud to announce the release of it’s first DVD: “DASH! feat. WWJDub? LIVE @ HUSH”. A 45 minute long video “captured” by Jordan Dykstra. Write him here to inquiry about the process. The release comes with a spray painted DVDr enclosed in a full color sleeve (with photo of Tony and I outside the Oak St. Bldg. by Erik Gage) with spine with postcard. Mentionable as well is that the ROM part of the DVD (a folder you can access by clicking on the disc icon on your computer desktop) includes a high quality WAV file (also available here as part of the Digital Magic Series from Magic Goat Music) of the entire set — feel free to burn it to a disc for yourself or a friend and/or put it on your iTunes or pod.
Our friends at Magic Goat Music in Salt Lake City have released the DASH!/WWJDub? show as part of their “Digital Magic Series”. The show happened back on November 21 of 2008 in Portland, Ore and was recorded and engineered by Neil Blake (whom I’d like to give appreciation to for beautifully capturing this event). It’s one track, 40 minutes long, mixed by Tony Ortega, and is available for free download here.
Tony and I are working a DVD-r(elease) of the show and have spent a great deal time figuring out the details. Should be done and available in the shop within the next week.

There are a few changes happening around here right now. First, Prescott Family . org has been moved from Movable Type to Wordpress. This really doesn’t mean anything for the end user, but I thought I would say it anyhow. Second, we are relaunching the site with a cleaner, more simple approach. We want to have more interaction and discussion. The shop, news, and events are relatively unchanged in approach, but the media page has a new vibe. The media page is a gigantic massive blogroll of the community’s blogs, twitters, flickrs, vimeos, etc. Check it out. OUT.
Uh oh! We are doing this zine thing again! And we want you to be part of the great undertaking. This time around the theme is TV. Yes! Good ol’ television. And you know why this is great? Because Tony and I came up with it? Well, yes, but not only that. TV is a common experience for most all of us and it is something we can relate to. So here is the deal. Send in your submissions by October 6. Look for the zine on October 31. For information on submitting go check out the information page.
Tony made a tight call and has given his set for the upcoming show at Rererato to THE RIGHTEOUS AND HARMONIOUS FISTS! I had a tough time finding the Fists a show this weekend (Caleb’s on his way to Portland currently) because of the venue takeover by this year’s TBA festy and the MFNW that are BOTH happening this weekend. Riding up on our shit. But fuck ‘em, we’re on! Dash, Stag Hare, and Guitars are also playing on Monday with the Fists. Come come come come see it.
